eVolve’s Workset Manager provides a convenient, time saving feature to quickly and easily update elements within a model automatically. Instead of having to manually assign drawn elements to worksets, the Workset Manager uses a set of pre established rules to put the element in the proper workset, saving valuable time and ensuring there are no errors due to re-entering the data.
In Revit, worksets allow you to continue to individually update and modify specific areas of a project, synching those changes with a file shared with other contributors when you’ve completed your task. Based on rules you set, the Workset Manager ensures all tagged elements in the group conform to a pre-established set of specifications, saving you from having to go back and update previous members of the set individually and making sure new elements fit your pre-set specs.
Using the Workset Manager function, a hanger placed in a workset will automatically be assigned the specs of that workset with a click of a button. Should the specs related to the elements in the workset need to be changed, all you have to do is change the spec in the workset, and all affiliated items in that workset will be updated automatically.
Worksets also allow you to review your work by color-coding the individual worksets on your design. This allows you to easily identify worksets within a section of your project so that you can get a quick visual reference to where and how any changes may impact the overall plan.
Plus, an added advantage is that your worksets don’t have to be recreated for each project: you can export workset specifics to use on other jobs, saving significant time and effort at the outset of a project and ensuring consistency in similar jobs. No more problems with transferring element specs to a new project: the verified data is automatically available when you install your existing workset.
