Good News About Multi-Surface Bearers

If you find yourself spending extra time coordinating and placing supports in your Revit mechanical model while avoiding clashes with multiple services, you’ll be glad to know there is now a tool that will solve that challenge.

Similar to the hanger tool in eVolve Mechanical, the new Multi-Service Bearer (MSB) tool allows for a bearer to be placed on multiple parallel runs of duct and/or pipe of different services. For instance, if you have two or more services, you can select the services you would like to include on the support, then run the tool. It will automatically place the bearers. There is no need to manually place and move hangers.

With the MSB tool, you can define the spacing and bearers to be used. The tool will also adjust the location where the drop rod should be placed on the structure. In addition, the tool will automatically round up on the length of the bearer so it meets industry standards, increasing productivity and safety when fabricating Unistrut Hangers.

While this workflow can currently be accomplished in Revit, it is a cumbersome manual process of editing individual bearers and dimensioning between placement of hangers. With the MSB in eVolve Mechanical, you can let the tool do the work and get more productivity out of your day.
